The port day the Apostle would recognize

Cruise travelers follow an old, old route. Ships have been putting pilgrims and merchants ashore on this coast for three thousand years — Paul himself sailed these waters on every journey the Book of Acts records. When your ship ties up at Kusadasi, you are twenty minutes from the theater of Acts 19; from Izmir (biblical Smyrna, another of the seven churches), about an hour along the old Roman road.

Your guide meets you at the gangway holding your name, and from that moment the clock is our responsibility. We plan the day backward from your all-aboard time with a generous margin — a private day means no waiting for strangers, no fixed bus schedule, and sites taken in the clever order that dodges the crowds. Ephesus, the House of Virgin Mary, the Basilica of Saint John: tell us what your heart wants and how many hours the ship allows, and we will compose the day. And our promise, kept for every cruise guest we have ever hosted: you will never miss your ship.

Step by step

Your day, hour by hour

  1. Gangway meeting

Step off the ship and straight into your private day — your guide and driver are waiting at the port exit with your name.

  2. House of Virgin Mary

We usually drive up Bulbul Mountain first, reaching the holy house while the morning is quiet.

  3. Ephesus Ancient City

The full marble descent — Odeon, Curetes Street, Library of Celsus and the Grand Theater where the Ephesians chanted for two hours in Acts 19.

  4. Lunch & local artisan visit

If your hours allow: whatever is local and fresh, cooked by local chefs and cooks, and a friendly browse of local handcrafts — entirely optional, entirely pressure-free.

  5. Basilica of Saint John or the Temple of Artemis

With time in hand, the day rises to John's tomb or pauses at the lone column of the Wonder of the World — then back toward the harbor promenade with comfortable time to spare.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if our ship is late, or the port changes?

We track your ship, not the brochure. Your guide adjusts pickup to the actual docking time, and the plan flexes with it — that is the point of private.

How firm is the "never miss your ship" promise?

It is the rule the whole day is built around: we plan backward from all-aboard with a wide margin, and in all our years of shore excursions we have never had a guest miss a sailing.

Our port day is short — what should we choose?

With four hours ashore, Ephesus alone, done well, beats three sites done breathlessly. Tell us your hours and we will give you an honest local recommendation.

Do you also run this from Izmir port?

Yes — Izmir is ancient Smyrna, one of the seven churches of Revelation, and the drive to Ephesus runs the old Roman road. Your guide fills it with the story of Polycarp and the church that received no rebuke.
